(CNN)Rand Paul, the libertarian-minded freshman senator who was once viewed as a formidable presidential contender, is suspending his White House bid.

Paul discussed the matter with staff Wednesday morning and sent out a statement confirming the decision to drop out of the Republican presidential primary.

"It's been an incredible honor to run a principled campaign for the White House," Paul said in the statement. "Today, I will end where I began, ready and willing to fight for the cause of Liberty."

Paul, a Kentucky Republican, is expected to instead place his focus squarely on his Senate reelection bid, where he faces a wealthy Democrat, Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, who has the money to partially finance his campaign.

He's a good guy. Has great potential.

IDK if garden variety Americans could get behind him.

His father has strange foreign policy issues.

Maybe that's the case.

It's clear this card:

is Trump. Has everything down to the hair and the smirk.

Just read what the card says, I'll save ya a click;

"Play this card when a Personality is attacked and enemy  Media groups are involved. All Media attacks announced so far are cancled, and no other Media group may aid the attackers."

Sounds kinda like what started with Faux News. Maybe a refrence. No one suspects the jobber type of line? You decide.

Atleast the "debates" should be entertaining...

unless he doesn't show...

Either way, our future:

I believe Trump would do his best, and that would be amazing, but the end results are going to be what they are.

No matter who takes the seat, the plane is already in tail spin, and there's nothing that can be done.

But there is plunty that will be done, and must be done.
