Gun control advocates hate it. Gun rights advocates demand it stays put. But what exactly is it? Let us explain.

There's a video at the link. There is no clarification of how many guns you have to sell to have to have a license. Basically, it means if you sell one gun you could be considered a firearms seller.

Privacy and anonymity are the things the state/tptb hate the most.

The gun dealers can sell private stock.  Their name might still be on it, so if a crime is committed they might be looking for the dealer.  Another reason to never register your firearm.

Not sure why it's a loophole though, because you could sell your own firearm at the gun show or elsewhere.

It's truly a complete farce. Go to a gun show, at least here in Delaware, pay for it, and it still goes to a licensed dealer for a check before You get to take it home. Period.
