Authorities searching for man who stole propane tanks

Law enforcement officials in Northeast Philadelphia are on the lookout for a man who stole 43 tanks of industrial propane gas last week, police said Tuesday night.

The thefts have caught the attention of counterterrorism authorities. Surveillance video shows a man stealing 43 tanks from two commercial facilities and loading them into a dark-colored minivan, police said.

Darn but Philly is feeling a LOT closer today. We were right on with the reason, from a former detective, captain, etc. etc.. He said that they are thinking the "Meth :ab Bomb" setup, filling them with anhydrous ammonia and using the phones for detonators. They have all the retired guys in the loop, having them watch stores that sell phones, so they ARE expecting something big any time now. :sor:

Police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with the thefts of several dozen industrial propane tanks from two locations in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police say their investigation led them to a lot on the 2600 block of Wheatsheaf Lane where they found two vehicles as well as several tanks. One suspect in the thefts is currently in custody. Police have not yet released his identity however.

Well that's understandable.
They have to make sure there's no reason to believe the men have any ties to terrorism first.

Glad they got them.
Hopefully they'll be able to find the other people involved with the stolen tanks.
