Apocalyptic scenes of Damascus suburb obliterated by violent clashes (RT EXCLUSIVE DRONE FOOTAGE)

The Jobar neighborhood of Damascus is the epicenter of some of the fiercest fighting in Syria with Islamist rebels refusing to give up their only stronghold. Once densely populated, the area has now been completely obliterated, RT’s Murad Gazdiev reports.

Most of the pre-conflict population has fled the rebel-held neighborhood of Jobar in the eastern suburb of Ghouta in Damascus, while fighting between the Syrian army and rebel groups has devastated the suburb over the past years.

Before the conflict in Syria erupted in 2011, the neighborhood was home to some 300,000 residents, most of whom were Sunni Muslims. The suburb contained a number of ancient landmarks, most notably the Green Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in the world. It also contained the Grand Jobar Mosque in addition to the tomb of the Prophet Elijah. Jobar also housed ancient baths that were built during Ottoman times.

Complete and utter devastation and desolation! Look at what they've done to Syria. Is someone going to tell me there was a terrorist in every one of these neighborhoods? Just WHO were they bombing?

Did the people get advance warning of the bombings? If the footage is real, the chances of surviving such devastation are pretty slim so there would be very few "refugees" to actually walk out of Damascus.

I've watched it twice and the people still look like they're CGI generated in a video game.

How fortunate for RT that their drone didn't get shot down.

Off in the distance is the city with skyscrapers still standing yet the drone only shows the apocalypse in residential areas.

They must have.
At least a million "refugees" have made it into Europe.

That footage doesn't look right to me either.
I don't anything about drones or CGI though.
Maybe it's just a weird kind of camera.
If it's real the devastation is shocking.
Like the pictures of Dresden.
