Sounds like a haboob.  We get those here in Arizona.  Haboobs occur regularly in arid regions throughout the world.

I'm not a military tactician, but, I would think the chaos a storm like this produces, would make for the perfect time to strike their military bases from altitude?

Maybe, some of you with experience in this area would comment?

The darkness of a new moon is the best time to attack.  It is highly preferred when you have time to pick the date of a strike.  This goes all the way back to Alexander the Great or before.

So, you're saying a new moon?

I was thinking about an air strike, where ground forces might/would have trouble with tracking radar and launching counter attack weapons (planes would be in hangers). The aggressor, flying at altitude, with GPS targeting, could drop a lot of stuff and go unmolested ??
