BREAKING: 2 police officers injured in Southeast Austin shooting, authorities say

Updated with officers condition, 12:30 a.m.: Two Austin police officers were reported in stable condition early Monday after a shooting Sunday  night in Southeast Austin, authorities said. The nature of the officers’ injuries was not clear, but authorities have told the American-Statesman that at least one officer was shot.

The shooting occurred in the 5500 block of Ponciana Drive, just north of Stassney Lane and east of Interstate 35.

Austin police are warning residents that the situation is ongoing. “The scene is not safe and remains active,” the Police Department said via Twitter.

Austin EMS said via Twitter that two officers have been taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life threatening. The Austin Police Association tweeted that the two officers were in stable condition.

It is unclear why officers what led to the shooting or whether a suspect was also injured in the incident.

gxer - I believe Austin is becoming a testing ground.  'They' are using it as a tactical experiment.  This is full on war.
