Get Ready for Concealed Guns in All 50 States

Recommended Posts

The National Rifle Association has called the concealed carry bill, which would make it easier for gun owners to keep their firearms hidden when crossing state lines, its “highest legislative priority in Congress.” Despite concerns raised by Democrats about states’ rights and domestic violence, the Republican-controlled Congress has pushed the proposal one step closer to becoming law.

The House Judiciary Committee late Wednesday voted 19-11 for the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, which would amend the federal criminal code to allow the concealed transport of handguns across state lines, so long as both states allow it. States will not be able to impose their individual requirements for a concealed carry license on armed travelers from other states.

Dammit, and I knew they paid the NRA just to be a bunch of lawyers, but the fact they represent guns made me think they would actually fight for something. Atleast this move will bank them more monies.

Oh ya know... Like "Marijuana", "transgender bathrooms", "sexual violence in the workplace", "to ban guns", and lastly "to be a sovereign nation exempt from the USA constitution".

The stuff that we "really" care about for the betterment of society to create a more civilized world for our children, and our children's children and so on. Shoot, wait how does that.. Nevermind if you think about it too much, it just hurts, so don't think about it. It's for your own good now.

This person could benefit from that law being passed.

Mother, Air Force Vet JAILED OVER HANDGUN In New York – Sent to Riker’s Island

Deanna Jo Robinson was on her way from Texas to bring her two children to New York so they could spend some time with their father. Having served in the Iraq war with the Air Force, Robinson had military clearances and has an active, valid Texas LTC. She kept her defensive handgun in the glovebox of her car. Her mistake was traveling to New York.

She was subsequently arrested, apparently by the NYPD in the Bronx, on November 11th, under the charge of “265.03 FC (CRIM POSS WEAPON-2ND DEGREE C Felony)” for daring to want to protect herself and her children from violent thugs. She has been booked into Riker’s Island at the Rose M. Singer Center, alongside murderers and armed robbers. Her friends are now asking for help to get her out.

Good Lord, let's stop passing new legislation and start correcting(removing) what we have passed infringing the 2nd. On the federal and state level both.

They'll continue to ignore those things..... Sure seems like they are anyway! No real change will we get. Not yet anyway!

Only when it's convenient.  It is important to note that states can nullify federal laws that are not constitutional.  The supremacy clause in Article VI of the constitution, only applies to federal law that is, "in pursuance thereof" the US Constitution and its limits on the Federal Government and its authority.  This is a case that solidifies an crucial part of the bill of rights.  Hence this federal legislation for national concealed carry would apply to all states, and states rights do not apply.  States have a lot of freedom when it comes to making laws that are unique to their state, but they cannot violate constitutional law just because they want to.  Illinois, California, New York, and other states that have severely restricted the citizens right to area themselves.

" so as long as both states allow it"

how was this any different than what is already in place.  I have reciprocity in some states some, states I don't have reciprocity in..
