Arabic numerals and the Iranian flag

So who knows the numerical system we use today is Arabic? We've been using this system of writing for at least 1500 years. It is the most recognizable system of numerical writing on the planet. 

I would like to talk about the Iranian flag. We have all seen it, but have we really looked at it? It contains some important numbers. We can see 12, 21, 37, 73. These Arabic numerals are almost universal. Why put them on the flag like they did? Do you guys see it too?
