Small plane makes epic landing without landing gear!!!

Recommended Posts

This guy must be related to Sully. One of the best emergency landings I've seen and the guy nonchalantly just hops out of the cockpit and calmly walks away with his hands in his pockets. And the best part is the guy turns off the props just before impact and they never make contact with the tarmac. The man has some serious skills! Check it out.

Okay I've heard of that before. What would happen if the prop hits the tarmac? I was just impressed with the way the guy landed without any drama in a nice and controlled manner.

The whole plane? But the engines are scrap and you'd want to get the wings and wing roots NDI'd. But to scrap the whole plane like that Piper would be like...like...selling your granny for another rock of crack.

I know of several pipers (all were twins) that have had to land without gear, and in those cases there was a defect that allowed a rod to unscrew over time and then separates and NOTHING can be done to get gear down. cannot remember but they did not have cotter pin in the connecting link to stop from happening.
