South Korea and the US have prepared for a Pyongyang ballistic missile test-fire on the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the North's ruling party.

TOKYO, October 9 (Sputnik) — South Korea in cooperation with the United States has not noticed North Korea's preparations for nuclear or missile tests ahead of the celebration for the country's ruling party founding, media reported Monday.

On Tuesday, North Korea will celebrate Party Foundation Day to mark the 72nd anniversary of the founding of its ruling Workers' Party of Korea. Seoul and Washington have reportedly enhanced surveillance operations involving the use of U-2S ultra-high altitude reconnaissance aircraft, RC-800 and RF-16 reconnaissance planes, the E-737 airborne early warning and control aircraft and P-3C maritime patrol aircraft.

Previously South Korea and the United States increased surveillance of North Korea amid expectations that Pyongyang might test-fire a ballistic missile.

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea has been observed moving what appeared to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards its west coast, South Korea’s Asia Business Daily reported on Tuesday, citing an unidentified intelligence source.

[Solo] North ICBM started moving

Last modified 2017.09.05 11:17 Enter article 2017.09.05 11:05

It is confirmed that a single ICBM-class missile produced by the ICBM research center in the Pyongyang, North Pyongyang, is moving toward the west of Hwanghae-do. North Korea is likely to launch the ICBM on the move before 9th of the month, the day it is established.

According to the authorities, one ballistic missile produced by a weapons research institute dedicated to the production of North Korea's ICBM was found to be moving toward the west of Hwanghae Island after being mounted on the 4th Mobile Launch Base (TEL) on the day after the sixth nuclear test. It is analyzed that the mobile launcher is moving at low speed mainly from the nighttime to avoid the eyes of the ROK intelligence authorities.

The National Intelligence Service reported on the previous day that the possibility of launching the ICBM on the eve of the 9th day of the establishment of the regime was high. Therefore, it is estimated that a single ICBM moving westward of Hwanghae Island will be used as an additional ballistic missile launch by North Korea.

The NIS said at a news conference earlier that "North Korea is likely to launch a missile at normal angle in the North Pacific."

North Korea 'moving missile towards west coast' - report  http://news.sky.com/story/north-korea-moving-missile-towards-west-coast-report-11021102

North Korea has been seen moving what appears to be an intercontinental ballistic missile towards its west coast, a report says.

South Korea's Asia Business Daily cited an intelligence source as saying that the rocket was spotted moving on Monday, the day after North Korea's sixth nuclear test.

The move was made at night to avoid surveillance, according to the report.

South Korea's defence ministry said they could not confirm the report but they said on Monday that their northern neighbour was ready to launch more missiles.

:spock:

Ten days later they shot a missile over Japan (after the September 3rd hydrogen bomb test); making this ICBM test look like a red-herring to disguise the amount of missiles moved. A red-herring they kinda of admitted to a couple weeks later:

North Korea is 12.5 hours AHEAD of the US east coast time zone.  Early Saturday morning in North Korea, the official state-run news agency KCNA announced "North Korea's preparations for war with the United States are complete."  Moments later, the United States SCRAMBLED four "Doomsday" aircraft to provide survivable command centers for the President and Vice-President, and global communications for Strategic Command (STRATCOM)  to run the U.S. Military worldwide.

Right now, there are two Boeing E-4B "Nightwatch" aircraft and two more Boeing E-6 "Looking Glass" aircraft airborne.  The E-4B are National Command Authority (Pres./V. Pres) and the two E-6 Are STRATCOM Global Nuclear Command Communications aircraft.  These are the "DOOMSDAY" planes through which the United States would run our worldwide military operations if nuclear attack was imminent.

While North Koreans wake up to celebrate the founding of their national party, The US public will go to sleep satisfied that there have been no preparations made. An unexpecting target is the best target.

But, I mean ... it could be nothing. :hide2:
