Alaska Volcano Erupts 36 Times in 4 Months, Triples in Size

Recommended Posts

Bogoslof Volcano Has Grown 3 Times In Area In 4 Months - March 22, 2017.

It just erupted again in July.  It seems to be growing even more.

"Bogoslof Island, located in the Bering Sea north of Alaska’s Aleutian Islands, has nearly tripled in size due to pyroclastic fall and flow deposits."

"Side by side comparisons of new and old satellite images show that the island has gained about 200 acres worth of land above the surface of the Bering Sea."

We've got movement elsewhere too. I'm not sure it is going to come to anything though. It feels a ways off and unimportant. Maybe I am wrong though!

It might not necessarily be doom on because its growing so much, but I wonder why it is growing so much suddenly.  Usually volcanic eruptions release earthquake pressure building in certain areas around the plates.  There was a recent island to form off of Japan in recent years also not long after the Japan had that large earthquake in 2011.
