The Hezbollah leader warned that a future war would not be like the one Israel fought with Lebanon in 2006

Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah warned during a televised speech at a Hezbollah ceremony celebrating "Jerusalem Day" (al-Quds) on Friday, that if Israel initiates war with Lebanon, "doors will open" for hundreds of thousands of fighters to "join the resistance" against the Jewish state.

"The Israeli enemy should know that if it launches an attack on Syria or Lebanon, it's unknown whether the fighting will stay just between Lebanon and Israel, or Syria and Israel," Nasrallah said.

There has been rising speculation about the possibility of a new war between Israel and Hezbollah, a powerful Lebanese paramilitary organization, more than a decade after their last direct confrontation.

"Everyone should know that the resistance axis is very strong and will not fail," he remarked. "Today there are more forces working in the area in Yemen and Iraq."
