Death of American detained in North Korea baffles experts

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED?

It may never be known, but there are some clues — as well as widespread speculation.

The University of Virginia student was medically evacuated from North Korea last week, more than a year after a court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with hard labor for allegedly trying to steal a propaganda banner.

North Korean diplomats at the United Nations had urgently requested a face-to-face meeting with U.S. officials in New York. During the June 6 meeting, Washington learned of Warmbier's condition.

His family said it was told he fell into a coma soon after his March 2016 sentencing after contracting botulism and taking a sleeping pill. Doctors in Cincinnati said they found no active sign of botulism or evidence of beatings. They say he had severe brain damage but they don't know what caused it.

Some observers believe that North Korea became worried because Warmbier's condition suddenly worsened.

"North Korea sent him back to the United States before he died because more questions would have been raised about his death and the situation would have gotten worse if it had returned his dead body," said Cheong Seong-jang, an analyst at the private Sejong Institute in South Korea.

Others believe it is unlikely that North Korea intentionally harmed Warmbier because he was valuable as a political pawn. Poor hygienic conditions, diet or bad medical care may have been responsible for a coma that North Korean doctors couldn't handle.

Or maybe North Korea concealed his medical condition for so long in the hopes that he'd recover.

From what I read, the brain cell death was not from beatings. It was from basically oxygen being cut off. They really needed to do an autopsy.

would be interesting to know WHY the family did not want a autopsy! that might explain some things!

What if NK did not kill him? What if the US did. So they could instigate tension! Has trump hinted at any moves yet?

that's a thought

but I think it will take more than just one citizen to be able to justify a BIG military move!

but it will add to the list of WHY we WILL DO something!!

If there is a real reason, then yes.. But as you can see, we have been told many things already.... But in the end does it really matter? What in the world do you and others actually expect to get out of this? War? So you can say you were right all along? Please, give it time, and this whole thing will just be a none story... You will not get a war anytime soon with NK as is evident the Navy for some reason as left the area... I know people want to see doom and gloom of war.. If that is the case and you can't wait, there are plenty of movies out there, that will give you just those feelings.

It's a sure way to win hearts and minds in order to get more  of the U.S. population  to ask for war with N. Korea.  It's on a par with "he gassed his own people"?

This in itself isn't all that's happened to push war with N. Korea. It's just one more thing used to push it. There will be others, too.

EDIT: The timing is curious as well.  Right when there's talk of war with that very country. It's terrible for N. Korea's position and puts the U.S. on moral high ground on this issue. The guy was young and had a good future ahead of him. Perfect.

When trying to get us to back a war, they go after many different mind sets, finds the "triggers" because not one thing will trigger everyone to want to attack another country. War drums have a cumulative effect because they've got many different beats for many different minds for basic brainwashing.

Maybe N. Korea did almost kill him and sent him here before he died. If he had died in N. Korea would it have been worse for them?

He got Seth Rich'd at the hospital to make the NK's look bad and to end the saga in the worst light possible.

Just a guess.  Feeling pessimistic about high profile hospital patients whose story could do the deep state harm.
