Women in the forest/mtns

By far the most dangerous thing in the woods is other males, but the harder to beat or get away from is the bear. Wolves and coyotes will take you on too if there are 2 or more of them. Lion only takes 1, like bears.

A Critical Item for women in shtf is plenty of a heavy scent that covers up yours. Nothing fruity, but you can walk through the woods smelling like an LA head shop or a burnt oil junkyard better and people that eat by thier noses won't notice it. "Female" tho, broadcasts across hill and holler.....that is one tiny vital tip that can literally save your life. Help keep your male from getting chewed up too.

People flooding rural areas will be new meat more than mosquitos smell. They will draw every creature for miles at first, except the deer. Dwell upwards and away from crowds.

Thier major predator will still be "the hills have crossed-eyes" but yes. The urban person is not likely to be child-trained about bears, lions, coyotes, wolves or as in florida, giant snakes.

There was a woman who lived down in the holler in a home made cabin. Right in the area where a bear always cubbed and lived with her cubs for awhile. The female bear was only interested in the woman's food and would go right in the house and get it. Plus, she had cubs, no fight wanted. The woman finally moved out of bear holler. But if it had been a male, he would have likely eaten her. They are a great creature! But can be unpredictable and catastrophic. If you take kids out there, have 1 adult per mcnugget, that can pick them up and run if need be.

Rubbing ashes from the fireplace or campfire on your clothes and/or body is an excellent un-oderant.

Wildlife you are hunting does not recognize the scent as foreign.

'Tis true.  Rubbing moss on yourself helps too.

And rolling around in a nice big pile of horseshit will help too, but I'm not gonna do it. :gsbrnint:

I was out hiking in the wilderness a couple of years ago and fell into a yuuuge pile of brown bear scat.  Nothing messed with me. :D
