There is never a dull moment in Donald Trump’s scorched Earth presidential campaign and Saturday was no different with the GOP frontrunner first being disinvited to the conservative Red State conclave in Atlanta only to have his top political adviser quit on him.

Or, if you believe Donald Trump, the blustery businessman fired him first.

According to Politico, political consultant Roger Stone claims he quit the Trump campaign, tweeting “Sorry @realDonaldTrump didn’t fire me- I fired Trump. Disagree with diversion to food fight with @megynkelly away core issue messages.”

Politico reports that Stone’s friends claim he sent an email to Trump announcing his decision to leave the campaign earlier this morning. Later in the morning Trump told a Washington Post reporter that had he fired Stone — about 15 minutes after Stone told a Fox News TV producer that he couldn’t appear Saturday because he was no longer affiliated with the campaign.
