Chris Matthews Goes After Ivanka, Jared Kushner — ‘It Is Like the Romanovs’ [VIDEO]

Recommended Posts

Chris Matthews compared Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s White House appointments to the nepotistic practices of Russia’s Romanov family on MSNBC Tuesday night.

“You know, history shows that nepotism doesn’t work,” Matthews waxed. “It works for the sovereign, as I said last night, but it doesn’t work for the people.”

Nepotism doesn't work?

So explain how a former First Lady became a political powerhouse with no experience. And while her daughter is not a politician yet, she controls a foundation that rakes in the dough.

noun

noun: nepotism

the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.

No denying that Trump is surrounding himself with family and friends in top positions. That doesn't automatically imply incompetence. Or competence. Trump had to know appointing his son-in-law would bring a backlash. We'll see what Kushner does.
