Identity Politics Threatens To Bleed Democrats Dry

For years, carving up America into groups that could be used as the basis of identity politics has been one of the chief strategies for the Democrat Party. In fact, they even have a bit of a slogan for it: “Demographics is destiny.”

Now that’s coming back to bite them hard.

A new report from BuzzFeed revealed that “a set of black-led political action committees has begun organizing as outside political groups, carving out their own lane for fundraising and their advocacy priorities” that doesn’t involve the Democrat establishment — a move that’s bound to have DNC head Tom Perez very unhappy.

Indeed, it's gonna bite hard. Among other things... like companies that are pushing diversity so hard they're losing their customers.

The Republican Party, always was, and to a degree will always remain, a "Coalition Party". Republican's have perfected it to a near fine art. If one ideological subset of the Party, is ideal for a given time, they rise to power. If they lose their way, or the situation changes, then another faction takes over. Democrat's, have always been a single ideological representation Party, and single race, ideological Party.

When they switched from demonizing blacks, to demonzing whites, they could still survive, as the primary focus, was there. Now, on racial politics and anti Christian/anti West ideology(anything to destroy the West), they have become a "Coalition Party", of competing interests, that still have a "winner take all, no compromise, extremist bigot outlook".

In a very real sense, one element of their Party, wants to kill another element of their Party. A different element of their Party, wants to drive multiple elements of their Party into the Ocean's, and another element of their Party, would love to enslave other elements of their Party. The only thing that can even begin to focus them, is hatred for people who are different, or believe differently then them.

They're not democrats anymore, they've adopted Marxist Communist ideology. That's why some are expendable, they're not going to go full blown like most of that party has done.

When they began this in the early 90s, the Democrats always thought that a third party candidate like Perot would always help them win. Like Clinton won in 92 with 39% of the vote.

Experts predicted that the Democrats would become the Black Party. White liberals dont reproduce. White conservatives do.

Someone might, at one time, have suggested the libs study up on the law of unintended consequences.  On the other hand, I'm glad no one saw fit to clue them in.

Once upon a time I had a business competitor who was nailing every order that came along by virtue of a policy of liberal discounting.  Our folks were in a panic, "What the hell are going to do?!"

"Let's wait a while," I suggested, "this can't go on forever."

Sure enough in no time at all the competitor was booked solid with a backlog of six months worth of work.

Oddly enough we were soon booking a great deal of business and at margins that were sustainable, not sacrificial...

If we can think six months further into the future than the "other guy" we'll prevail nine times out of ten.

Which is why I fret a bit about what on the surface seems a growing fractionalizing going on within the GOP.  Compromise that gets you some, if not all, of what you desire is superior to adopting an "all or nothing" strategy that yields nothing.

As always, ymmv.
