Recommended Posts

US B-2 bombers hit Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) camps outside the city of Sirte in Libya, AFP and Reuters report, citing US defense officials.

According to the unnamed sources, the bombardment struck IS targets some 45km from Sirte.

The mission was coordinated with Libya’s UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA), two defense officials told Reuters.

I don't know much about anything, but the causality figures were 85 fighters.  The cost to carry out the mission is astronomical in speed, distance, and logistical coordination costs.  I don't mind spending the money on the military, but we have to take a cue from the old masters of war and do it efficiently and cost effectively.  There was lots of ways to do this mission besides flying heavies thousands of miles for millions of dollars.  Just saying.
