I get email alerts of quakes 5.0+ from USGS, for the first 4 EQ in NV the depth was 0km......? as such:

Preliminary Earthquake Report

Magnitude5.8

Date-Time

28 Dec 2016 08:18:01 UTC

28 Dec 2016 00:18:01 near epicenter

28 Dec 2016 02:18:01 standard time in your timezone

Location38.355N 118.851W

Depth 0 km

What the hell does that mean? It was on the surface? Anyway, I never trusted the USGS anyway.

Look at a map of one of these EQs

M 5.7 - 28km WSW of Hawthorne, Nevada

https://www.google.com/maps/place/38°23'31.2"N+118°53'56.4"W/@38.3920579,-118.9194731,5653m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d38.392!4d-118.899

Check out the imagery...It's in a deserted area with one road.  There's a random crop circle to the west.  And if you go south, there's the Aurora Crater with what looks like some business going on to the south of it.  Quarry?

http://data.nbmg.unr.edu/Public/Geothermal/SiteDescriptions/AuroraCrater.pdf

It was an active gold and silver mining area up until the 60s.  Wondering if those mines are being used to throw a couple nukes into and see what happens...

As someone who lived not far from a nuke test facility nuke it does not produce earthquakes.

Will it shake buildings 30 miles away? Yep.

The name "Aurora" stuck with me this morning because of the Chicago incident where people found cards warning them of something wrong happening in Aurora.  That and one of the Malls here in CO, specifically in Aurora, was one of them that was shut down the other night.

Lots of Aurora's going on!

For what its worth..there have been some small quakes in Tonopah Nevada too. Tonopah is near the Nevada test range and Area 51. Its only 100 miles from Tonopah to the quake cluster in Hawthorne. There is a lot of desert in between those two areas where some mighty strange things go on. LOL
