HOAX POP-UP

Recommended Posts

 COBO Member    4,291

Just had a pop-up saying my Samsung was infected by the "Four" virus. (Really? Who watches porn on a phone?) Went to Android Central's forums and confirmed it was BS. So just to be sure, I ran MWB and they found nothing. No idea what would've happened if I'd bought into the hoax ad.

The real point of this post is that the pop-up appeared as I was over at Breitbart's website. So it appears the cupcakes at Google are still butthurt over the election results.

If you run into something like this, please add to this! I figure we're all going to see more of this in the future.

Wannabe developers - kids with access will create all kinds of bullshit.  I wonder sometimes why these people do not put their "talents" to better use.

My phone is a statue - when it rings I say "Hello, Is tat ue?" It's a phone dammit.  I have laptops with different OS to test stuff and a NUC and a All-In-One - smart-phones are over rated.

LOL! I just made the jump to a smartphone a few months back. Just in time to realize I was a lot less stressed with a flip phone.

You would be a lot less stressed if you didn't have a cell phone at all. I got rid of my cell phone years ago and have never looked back.

My kids always say, what if you are out somewhere and you have an emergency? I told them, all I have to do is ask someone if I can use their phone. Everybody has a phone and most people are more than willing to hand you their phone if you have an emergency.

I've become a feral human by escaping cell phone captivity. I can eat a  meal, take a shower, enjoy a movie, drive my vehicle, work in the yard, read a book and sleep all without being interrupted. I have a landline and a answer phone. If people want to talk to me..they can leave a message and I will phone them back when I decide to.

No text messages either. I prefer to talk to someone rather than try to decipher what is the intent behind their words.

I do have an old flip phone that I bought in 2009 that could be used if I knew where It was.

I understand that some people need those things for their jobs but that is BS too. Back in the old days people went to work, put in their time and then went home to enjoy their family's and lives. Now days employers expect employees to be accessible 24/7.  I say if employers require their employees to reachable at all times, they should pay them for working 24 hours a day.

Its a crazy world we live in but that was always part of their plan...to drive people insane. Technology has evolved faster than human beings can which has resulted in humans becoming slaves to their electronics. It's so sad!

Yeah, my son calls it "trapped in tech". But at least he's making a move I suggested a while back. He's taking everything he's learned so far in the USN and going back to school in Jan to get into robotics.
