That would be just the kind of ludicrously stupid idea that the government would waste grant money on.

Carbon fiber is better used in firearms' frames and aircraft bodies

That stuff splinters real bad...be in your hands and feet months later...not the most desirable stuff to work with...

Lightweight and strong yes, practical to work with, no as much...

Not to mention, Honda's biz jet division that's been using it for years in their fuselages. Oh yeah, then there's Ruger that uses carbon fiber to build their poly frames (both revolvers and semi-autos).

That plane makes me want to learn how to fly.  I could build a runway for it in my front yard.
