How did Marchesa and Watson make a dress that thinks? This is creepy.

In the world of fashion, every look has been done and redone. Working with Watson, fashion house Marchesa was able to reinvent red carpet couture at the 2016 Met Gala, themed Manus x Machina.

Here’s how they did it: Watson read thousands of articles in seconds so Marchesa could find unique materials. Watson analyzed hundreds of red carpet dresses to help Marchesa discover what colors to get red carpet ready. Watson scanned vast volumes of social data to help Marchesa bring their fans’ voices to life. Watson interpreted real-time social sentiment so Marchesa could make their dress responsive to real-time fan reactions.

Marchesa and IBM Watson debuted their first collaboration: the cognitive dress, powered by the voice of the fans. With Watson, Marchesa was able to reinvent their design process and create a dress like no other.

See the dress and hear the inside story of this pioneering cognitive process at IBM World of Watson.

At some point in the future we'll be forced to wear clothing that shows our moods and what we are thinking?

Nah, clothing will be transparent in the future... for our own safety course.
You'd have a hard time hiding a weapon or even a tube of lipstick in that dress.
