Good grief!

I like to think of myself as an educated and calm left leaner. These people are embarrassing to what i stand for. They are the fringes of an idea.. and i dont like a fringe getting in my eyes.

The problem is that within every ideology you have idiots with no thought process, who just follow the crowd..  extreme left, extreme right, Feminism, Christianity, Islam. Infact anyone that hangs their cap on a single idea is open to the brainwashing that the fringes of their movement put forward.

A true political leftist believes in the vote as a means of change. This current violent, threatening anger that we're seeing has been allowed creep in from the extreme anarcho left, as a final protest to smear Trump's legacy.  

I know this because i was involved with a few of these organisations (RTS & SWP) when i was younger. What started out as a way to try and marry the social empathy of socialism to the uplifting power of capitalism, slowly turned into an all out assault on anything that wasnt left. Policital correctness swept in and i got the hell away from them. If i want to insult someone, I'll be the judge of what's acceptable. And if i they get pissed for me doing so, then i'll have to deal with consequences.. I will not allow 'group think' in my life.

This violence from the left has been common practice after a vote for quite some time.  My own country's recent elections were the same. I was out protesting myself until after the vote (which i seen as legit as our current government cares little about anyone below the poverty line and we have a spiraling homeless crisis). Once the vote was in, the protests should have been over and result accepted but of course we had the hardcore idiots blocking up our main streets at evening rush hour.. and getting physical with any drivers that complained.

These groups were infiltrated by people who'd rather fight cops (and smash stuff up) than use their intellect and persuasion to try to bring about a change.  They are the people now influencing the frightened kids on the street, building their army of uneducated sheep.

The left has forgotten what its message is and has forgotten how to put across in a meaningful way.

Agreed, I am more than willing to sit down with someone that thinks differently than I do, if it involves intellectual debate.  That is how we learn.  You are correct about the left being co opted by these radical groups, and this is also true for the dem elected officials.  Blue fog dems don't exist anymore, and this has changed our election choices , that of right wing, with the alternative being communist.  JFK democrats do not exist in our government anymore, and they are wearing thin among the electorate.  Thank you for staying true to yourself and America.

At the New Orleans riot yesterday, "Die Whites Die" was painted on a nearby building. Signs read: "End White Supremacy".  Their violent intent is now more in the open. If these people had any sense of this country's history, they might remember Lincoln's Gettysburg Address:

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

"Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate, we can not consecrate, we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. Lincoln spoke these words just months after the end of the Civil War. A war in which a staggering number of people died, including many whites who died intending to free blacks from slavery. These words have a new relevance for me. Federal government serves at the will of the people! As documented by the 2010 US Census, "the people" of this country consisted of (using the Census' simplistic terminology): Whites - 63.7%;  Hispanic/Latino - 16.3%;  Blacks - 12.6%;  Asian: 4.8%;  American Indian/Alaskan Native - .9%; and 'Some other race' - 6.2% (plus a couple other categories). There are nearly four times as many whites in this country than hispanic/latinos. There are five times more whites in this country than blacks. So when the sing reads "End White Supremacy", what does that mean? In the United States, the majority of people have chosen Mr. Trump to be this country's next President. Does it matter what the race of those electors is? Not to me. What does matter to me is that federal government must continually be subservient to will of the majority of electors. Even if that majority is made up of lighter-skinned people.
