NEW YORK (WABC) -- A crane lifting an air conditioning unit dropped it at a building on Madison Avenue between 38th and 39th Streets, leaving at least 7 people injured.

It happened at about 11 a.m. Sunday on Madison Avenue between 38th and 39th Street.

The crane was attempting to lift a huge air conditioning unit up to the building when the cable appears to have snapped.

All of the injured are in stable condition.

The crane is now leaning against the high-rise building.

There is visible damage to the top portion of the building.
