That map is an indispensable tool for spotting quakes the USGS mysteriously fails to report.  It's also useful for comparing magnitudes reported by different data feeds and taking notice when USGS significantly downgrades quakes, but other feeds do not.  One thing to watch for is two feeds reporting the same quake, which, judging by the reporting times of those two quakes mentioned may be the case here.  I suspect they are one and the same quake, with the European feed and the GeoScience Australia feed reporting two different magnitudes.  In that region I tend to trust GeoScience Australia data more than data from seismic monitoring stations on the other side of the world.
