  1. LIMA, Peru — It is 8 a.m. and the line of Venezuelan refugees outside the Interpol office already stretches to the end of the block. Most have just arrived in Lima with not much more than the clothes on their back and are here applying for a certificate to show they have no criminal record, a requirement for a work permit in Peru. “Leaving was tough, but staying would have been tougher,” said Andrea Sequiera, 29, as she waits at the back of the line with her husband Luis, 31, and 8-year-old son Fabian. ”We know lots of people who would like to get out of Venezuela but can’t afford the ticket.” Although Venezuelans for years have been fleeing the “socialist revolution” first launched by the late Hugo Chávez in 1999, in recent months the trickle has turned into a flood as living conditions become ever more dire — from hyperinflation to acute shortages of food and medicine to one of the worst homicide rates in the world. <snip> https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2017/12/14/flood-venezuelans-fleeing-their-depressed-country/941463001/ Economic warfare is almost as devastating as bombing campaigns.
  2. A Long Island woman has been charged with stealing tens of thousands of dollars to send to Islamic State fighters in Syria using Bitcoin. But her lawyer says she was simply collecting money to help Syrian refugees. Zoobi Shahnaz, 27, is accused of giving banks phony financial information so she could get credit cards and a loan totaling value at more than $85,000 before trying to send that money to ISIS overseas, according to a statement released Thursday by the U.S. Attorney's office in Central Islip. <snip> https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Long-Island-Woman-Charged-Bitcoin-Money-ISIS-464214453.html Great excuse for regulation, isn't it?
  3. People need to keep a close eye on procurement information for their locations. It should be public record, if we knew where to look. It's a window into what they're really preparing for.
  4. LOL The pea soup woman! Oh yeah. I found the salon article here: https://www.salon.com/2017/12/11/as-mueller-closes-in-on-trump-the-right-pushes-back-will-he-be-fired/
  5. Humans Fight Back Robots

I'm going to take it home and make it clean my house. lol
  6. Something worse most likely.
  7. Humans Fight Back Robots

    They already are!
  8. Right? I still want to know who that pharmacist was delivering Alzheimer meds to in Congress.
  9. Go look at Salon's take on this. "Just when Mueller is closing in on Trump blah blah blah" I'm like are you fn blind or what? How about just when conflicts of interests so huge that they can't be ignored by anyone anymore, Mueller might get his ass handed to him?
  10. My stuff is paid for, too. I am out of debt except my house. I paid off my last credit card a couple of weeks ago. Then I got a bill for $1.26 after that. Just when I thought I was rid of them forever. lol
  11. I remember reading something a few years ago about Seattle or Washington state buying a whole bunch of body bags and storing them. I can't find anything online about it now.
  12. My credit cards would collapse under that. lol
