AP report: Hellfire missiles headed to Portland found in Serbia

9 posts in this topic

The Associated Press is reporting that Serbian authorities are investigating reports that two Hellfire missiles with explosive warheads were discovered on an airline passenger flight destined for Portland.

The AP report, posted by Portland Tribune news partners KOIN TV 6 and Oregon Public Broadcasting, did not say where in Portland the missiles were headed.

ArmyTechnology.com says the AGM-114 II Hellfire is an air-to-ground missile developed primarily for the anti-armour role. The American-made projectiles can be fired from air, sea or ground platforms.

So... they just put them on a plane and try to ship them in now? This sounds really strange to me.

I wonder whose name is on the cargo documents.  Can't imagine not getting caught doing that.

Guessing the Alphabet Agencies completely missed this one. They were too busy spying on the American people. Wonder how many actually were not discovered.

Portland.com is reporting that the flight originated in Lebanon,  and the missiles were hidden in coffins.

Coffins wouldn't go to very many places, a coffin salesman, a mortician. The government buys coffins to bring in servicemen from overseas. Not many people would buy a coffin and store it for future use, would they?. Why don't they just give us the meat of the situation which is WHAT DO the cargo docs say?

The Serbian state news agency Tanjug reported that the missiles had been packed in wooden coffins and unloaded at the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, where they were inspected by bomb-sniffing dogs.
