Marco Rubio Is Not Eligible To Be President!

5 posts in this topic

Mark my words...Marco is a pawn playing into Trumps hands. Trump and Rubio are ganging up on Cruz to get Ted out of the picture. Once Ted is gone, Donald will turn on Marco like a rabid dog and will bring up Marco's eligibility.

This is an 2011 article from the Tampa Bay Times in Florida...Marco's "home" state.

Unable to prevent Barack Obama from becoming president, rigid followers of the Constitution have turned their attention to another young, charismatic politician many think could one day occupy the White House.

The birthers are calling for U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, the budding Republican star from Florida.

"It's nothing to do with him personally. But you can't change the rules because you like a certain person. Then you have no rules," said New Jersey lawyer Mario Apuzzo.

Forget about allegedly Photoshopped birth certificates; the activists are not challenging whether Rubio was born in Miami. Rather, they say Rubio is ineligible under Article 2 of the Constitution, which says "no person except a natural born citizen … shall be eligible to the Office of President."

The rub is that "natural born citizen" was never defined.

The birthers rely on writings at the time of the formation of the republic and references in court cases since then to contend that "natural born" means a person born to U.S. citizens. Rubio was born in 1971 at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, his office said, but his parents did not become citizens until 1975.

"Marco Rubio was born a Cuban citizen via his parents," screams a headline on a blog by birther Charles Kerchner, who obtained copies of the naturalization petitions by Rubio's parents in May, igniting talk that is spreading across the Internet.

Kerchner said Rubio is no different from Obama, who even if he was born in Hawaii (which he doubts) was not born to two U.S. citizens. Obama's father was a Kenyan national. The birthers say Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, whose parents are from India and were not citizens at the time of his birth, is also unqualified.

<snip>

Rubio said he's not sure why his parents waited so long to apply for citizenship. But he said describing their plight as exiles is appropriate. "Anyone who can't return to their natural country is an exile, if you can't return for political reasons."

Asked if he thought he was eligible to be president, Rubio demurred. "I'm not going to answer that because I'm not thinking about it. All I care about is my qualifications to serve in the Senate."

An independent presidential candidate has filed a civil action lawsuit, demanding that two senators be taken off the ballot in Arkansas.

David Librace declared that Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are not constitutionally eligible to be elected president and/or vice president of the U.S.

The lawsuit was filed to Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin, stating that the two senators’ are ineligible because their births don’t qualify them as “naturally-born citizens.”

It also stated that Rubio was born in Miami, Fla. to parents who were non-American and on VISAs. It also stated that Cruz was born in Canada.

The document was filed on January 28, 2015 and filed Wednesday (Feb. 3).

Donald Trump is now raising questions about Marco Rubio’s ability to legally run for president.

On Saturday, Trump retweeted a tweet that suggested the Florida senator is not a citizen. George Stephanopoulos asked him about it on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday morning.

Rubio was born in Florida on May 28, 1971. His parents had come to the United States from Cuba in the 1950s. Trump retweeted a tweet on Saturday that suggested both Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz are ineligible to be president.

There is a lawsuit pending in Broward County, Florida, challenging the eligibility of both Cruz and Rubio — Cruz because of where he was born, Rubio because of where his parents were born. An initial hearing on Michael Voeltz's suit is to be held March 4 in front of Judge John Bowman.

You know I was under the impression that if you were born in the U.S then as long as you fit the other criteria then you could become president. Ted Cruz was born in Canada so he's out. But Marco was born here. Still I hope he doesn't become president because it's very apparent to me that he's a parrot saying whatever his handlers tell him to!

It's Obama's fault!

Well, it is in a way since prior to his election, we weren't even aware of "birthers." Natural born citizens are supposed to be loyal to their own countrymen and while we've been sold down the river for decades, the last eight years have been the most revealing.
