NAFTA superhighway for driverless trucks could become a reality

11 posts in this topic

While Google is busy working on getting their second-gen driverless car on the road, elsewhere in the U.S. there are bigger plans in the works. 20 tons and 18 wheels of driverless truck big.

Recently, an industry group met in North Dakota to discuss the creation of a driverless truck corridor that runs from Mexico right up into Canada. They’re targeting U.S. Route 83, an 1,800-mile stretch of north-south highway that runs from Brownsville, Texas all the way up to Westhope, North Dakota — before it crosses the border into southern Manitoba.

Trucks on the route won’t have to worry about sharing the road with drivers in dumbcars, or even driverless cars. This is to be a driverless truck only route, a massive artery designed to facilitate the efficient movement of billions of dollars’ worth of freight among the NAFTA nations.

Please note that this article is from May, 2015. I've noticed that the NAFTA superhighway was huge news at one point, but the media and even the web has gone pretty much silent on this topic. In this article they are talking about Hwy. 83 and here is the map for that:

What happened to the Amerodollar? The putting our ports in the U.S. out of business in order to ship Chinese goods to Mexico via ship and unloaded there and have them trucked up this superhighway by Mexican truck drivers? What about the huge land grab for easements to expand this highway into many lanes?  I'm doing research now to try and find out some of these answers. Please post here if you have any information at all on this. At one point this was a huge threat to patriots everywhere and Texans were fighting against having their lands taken away for this expansion.

Driverless truck corridor from Mexico to Manitoba proposed

Trucks hauling cargo from Canada through the United States to Mexico and back navigate border crossings without the need for passports, visas or even a driver to steer them.

It's an idea that's not too far-fetched, says a group that met in North Dakota last week.

Marlo Anderson with the Central North American Trade Corridor Association says members are working to turn the idea into reality.

The plan is for an autonomous vehicle corridor along Route 83, which runs north-south through Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota.

The road then continues into Manitoba.A study into the feasibility of the project is being planned and Anderson says the group wants to travel to communities along the corridor to gain support.

"One of the challenges we have here in North Dakota is that we have a lot of energy production going on right now, but not enough pipelines to carry the oil from North Dakota to its destination point," he said.

That means other commodities, such as grain, need to fight for space on trains. A separate corridor could relieve that pressure, he said.

"We're hopeful that, working with the Canadian government, the Mexican government, the United States, we can create some kind of automated way ... (to) streamline that process of border crossings."

The technology, though experimental, already exists in driverless vehicles that use tools such as GPS to navigate roads, Anderson said.

More efficient

Unmanned vehicles are more efficient, he suggested.

"They don't need to worry about a driver having too many hours in a day or in a week. Those types of things go by the wayside because the vehicle doesn't care."

Anderson said he understands why the idea is unnerving for some, but noted that unmanned vehicles have the potential to remove human error from driving.

Just now, JustATrucker said:

They wanted to put a super corridor in before, but it went no where..

I can't believe they just gave up, they never do. They always come back with a new name for the things they want to implement.

All eyes on the Nafta Super Highway and North American Union, I think this is what the Trans Pacific Partnership was about.

Feels like we are starting to live in a Atlas Shrugged world now. :piqljkdk: :whip:

CFR: 2016 Candidates Must Build an ‘Integrated’ North America

http://truthstreammedia.com/2014/10/06/cfr-2016-candidates-must-build-an-integrated-north-america/

-

This report represents a major update in the pursuit of a North American Union introduced publicly circa 2005 with the CFR’s Building a North American Community and the signing of quiet trilateral agreements for the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America by President George W. Bush and his counterparts Stephen Harper and Vicente Fox in Canada and Mexico in 2006.

Media figures like Jerome Corsi and Lou Dobbs led the charge in exposing the global-corporate merger and criticizing the blackout in coverage of the events, with most of the corporate media eerily silent about these tectonic events on the North American continent.

Moreover, this North American merger joins the larger chorus of instituting global governance that has already sung loudly in the EU, and more softly in the African Union and various formative stages of unions Pacific, Latin/Pan-America and other global unions.

NAFTA and GAT were Clinton's evil doings. It's why people get sick from tomatoes from Guatemala in the winter.

Obama could have allowed a simple pipeline to transport oil from point A to B but now a whole super highway?

Tree hugging activists will not comply.

And they keep renaming these things, we should keep on top of all the names. People are forgetting about this.

So much info to go through, so many damn videos to watch, I almost don't even feel like commenting sometimes. lol

United We Fall is a documentary about a North American Union that is being developed right now between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. For years this topic has been debated in the news and in political circles as being a possible future for North America. In recent years, the mood has shifted and a rift is developing between those who want a deeply integrated North American community, and those who wish to retain their national sovereignty. This film takes a look at both sides of the issue by interviewing insiders such as members of the ultra-secretive Bilderberg group, the Trilateral Commission and the Council On Foreign Relations and also journalists and activists such as Luke Rudkowski, Alex Jones and producer Dan Dicks who have been at the heart of this heated debate. The film also explores the global elite’s broader agenda for the formation of a One World Government. Will a North American Union be beneficial to you and your family, or will it be the downfall of three sovereign nations? You be the judge!!! United We Fall. Three Nations. Two Sides. One Union. United We Fall
