RED ALERT! TOTAL MARTIAL LAW GRANTED UNDER NEW lSlS WARPOWERS ACT

44 posts in this topic

The GOP leader just unveiled a sweeping war authorization bill and cleared it for a Senate vote.

WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) caught nearly everybody off guard late Wednesday by quietly clearing the path for new legislation to declare war on the self-described Islamic State -- an issue he'd signaled for months he had no interest in touching.

McConnell introduced a sweeping authorization for the use of military force, or AUMF, that would give the president new authority to take action against the militant group also known as ISIS or ISIL. It wouldn't put any limits on the duration, geography or use of U.S. ground combat troops in the war, or on the means by which the U.S. military could act. It also would keep in place a broad AUMF from 2001 that never expired and that allows the president to take military action against anyone, anywhere, connected to the terrorists behind the 9/11 attacks.

In other words, it's a war authorization that's as wide open as it gets. (Read the text of McConnell's proposal below.)

Anywhere.. any method necessary... for as long as it takes (Make sure you watch the 1 min vid where Lindsey Graham says this!

I don't like the Huffington Post, but can't find anyone else covering this.

He must be heavily invested in Haliburton like our old nemesis, Dick Chaney.

It's always about the money and war keeps people busy so they don't focus on what's really going on. The war machine is such a boost to the economy, paid for by credit and taxpayers sweat. Oh wait, that can't go on forever no matter how often they claim that everything is awesome.

Oh FFS. What the HE77 are they thinking??@? "Are you 'all in'?"!"! Obama has purposely limited ALL the air strikes from day one. The only thing Obama would do with unlimited resources, whim, is start hunting down anti-Islam groups, and I don't mean Just legally. As we know, people like Donald Trump are ISIS' biggest recruitment tools, so we have to get those tools locked away so they can't Enable the enemy?!?

Sub for more: http://nnn.is/the_new_media | The new Authorization for the use of military force against ISIS would not restrict the president’s use of ground troops, nor have any limits related to time or geography.

This means if this vote passes the U.S. Military can be deployed ANYWHERE on the planet - Including on U.S. soil for any length of time.

The new AUMF was slipped in by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell who invoked Rule 14 during a historic blizzard weekend, surprising the Senate. McConnell has quietly set the stage for a debate under the guise of "fighting against ISIS."

Sarah Mimms for Defense One noted that invoking "Rule 14" sets up the authorization for a future vote, but does not put it on the calendar, meaning a vote could come at any time. The resolution already has four Republican cosponsors: Sens. Lindsey Graham, Daniel Coats, Joni Ernst, and Orrin Hatch.

The AUMF put forward by McConnell would not restrict the president’s use of ground troops, nor have any limits related to time or geography.

REPEAT: The new Authorization for the use of military force would not restrict the president’s use of ground troops, nor have any limits related to time or geography. This means if this vote passes the U.S. Military can be deployed ANYWHERE - Including on U.S. soil for any length of time.

So does this start to sound like the dominoes or marbles are starting to fall conveniently into place?

If you have a father in law like Mitch you can get at least 90 pounds of blow. Hookers optional. Ping a ding ding! How is it we have douche larouche granting such powers to anything bigger than a cockroach?

Before the Ping May, a rusty cargo vessel, could disembark from the port of Santa Marta en route to the Netherlands in late August, Colombian inspectors boarded the boat and made a discovery. Hidden in the ship’s chain locker, amidst its load of coal bound for Europe, were approximately 40 kilograms, or about ninety pounds, of cocaine. A Colombian Coast Guard official told The Nation that there is an ongoing investigation.

The seizure of the narcotics shipment in the Caribbean port occurred far away from Kentucky, the state in which Senator Mitch McConnell is now facing a career-defining election. But the Republican Senate minority leader has the closest of ties to the owner of the Ping May, the vessel containing the illicit materials: the Foremost Maritime Corporation, a firm founded and owned by McConnell’s in-laws, the Chao family.
