Jimmy Carter's Grandson Suddenly Dead at 28

3 posts in this topic

(Reuters) - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter's 28-year-old grandson, Jeremy, has died, Carter told a church gathering on Sunday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The newspaper said Carter, who two weeks ago said he is now cancer-free, appeared at the Maranatha Baptist Church to teach his regular Sunday school class and told church members that his grandson had died a few hours before.

Didn't Jimmy Carter make some kind of damning statement recently?

At any rate, in the modern world when tragedy strikes, you carry on as nothing happened.

You're reading a story to grade schoolers and you've just been told that your country has been attacked in NYC and you continue on with the story.

Your grandson dies suddenly and a few hours later you go teach your Sunday school class as if nothing has happened.

Your child is killed in Connecticut at school and a day later you're smiling for the cameras.

:vb_wtf:

Can they be any more fake?

I know he announced he had cancer! not sure if anything else was mentioned but it would not surprise me if he is dying. he might be feeling the need to speak out about whatever he may know. Death bed confessions!

He did speak out against the former warmongers in August.

“The Vietnam War, I think, was an unnecessary war; the invasion of Iraq was an unnecessary war… We need to be more reluctant to go to war." - Jimmy Carter (Former U.S. President, Peacemaker, and Humanitarian)

Mr. Carter: Yes. We dehumanise the people against whom we are fighting. We call all the Japanese “Japs”, we call the Germans “Huns”, we call the Italians “Wops”. And you know what we called the Vietnamese when we were at war with them: “Gook”, “Charlie”, etc. We tend to convince ourselves and to convince our fellow citizens that the people against whom we are fighting are no longer human – they’re not equal to us. This is contrary to basic moral principles. It’s contrary to my own religious beliefs. But it’s certainly something that lets us rationalise what we do.

Now it's the Muslims!

@ukshep  Yeah, he's 91 and maybe he has some bombs of his own to drop before the big sleep.
