7 Reasons You Should Buy a Gun After San Bernardino

7 posts in this topic

You should buy a gun. You should learn how to use it. You should buy sufficient ammunition. You should get a license to carry, if you can.

You should do all of that now.

You should do it not just because President Obama and his administration are hell-bent on implementing some form of worse-than-useless gun control in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday. You should buy a gun because the government cannot keep you safe. You should buy a gun because the government may in fact attempt to disarm you in violation of your Constitutional rights. You should buy a gun because the media will lie to you about the government’s ability to keep you safe.

That is the takeaway message from this week’s spate of events.

Here’s why.

He's right on all counts. Now to try and buy some more, 10 day waiting period... check... background check... check... When are they going to start comparing the no fly list with NICS?

True, police are only Responders, they only get there After a crime has been committed. What's the line "When seconds count, police are only minutes away", right? :JSfrXsb:

I look at the police as a "mop up crew".  They're there to mop up all the blood... oh wait, they look at it, take notes, ask the politicians what the story is about, then the owner of the property has to call in the hazmat crew and pay for it, too.

In my area 10-15 minutes are average response times for police, and that is on slow day when they are just sitting around trying to give out traffic tickets. Last night, all it took was 2 vehicle accidents and a suicide attempt all within a 10 minute time frame to create extended times of 25-30 minutes.

People should be ready to defend themselves if not for the obvious fact that the police won't get there very quickly, then how about for the very real possibility that the police won't be coming at all? Winter is on its way, and with it, nasty weather is expected this year in Southern half of the USA.

I'm stocked up on canned goods, dry goods, propane, necessities, and a variety of 12 gauge rounds. :)

Also don't get stuck in a specific frame. The AR is good but also have an AK. also, learn how to use both. Same with pistols, 9mm, 10mm and 40cal.

If you train one with one specific caliber you be in a shock when you go to something else.  Also think of the rounds that can be scavanged from different situations.

Variety is the spice of life!

7 Reasons You Should Buy a Gun After San Bernardino

Those are all good reasons but they forgot an important one. You should own a gun so that you can hunt for food. There will come a time when the grocery store shelves are empty. If you can shoot, you wont starve.
