Congressional Republicans were poised Thursday to notch the grandaddy of all conservative wins — passage of a bill that would deliver a “mortal wound” to Obamacare. A swift kick to Obamacare as promised to voters, when the control of Capital Hill was passed to them.

Though destined for a swift veto, the GOP views the fast-track process as a test run for the real thing in 2017, when it hopes to scrap the health law with a Republican president and a slim majority in the Senate.

Party leaders also said the bill, while doomed, fulfills a promise they made to voters who handed them control of Capitol Hill in last year’s mid-term elections.

“Are we doing this for partisan reasons? I would say no, absolutely not,” Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican, said. “What we are doing is listening to our constituents, who’ve told us that they’ve had one bad experience after another with Obamacare.”

Republicans are using a budget process known as “reconciliation” that allows them to pass a revenue-related bill by a majority vote, without having to overcome Democratic-led filibusters that have doomed every previous Obamacare repeal.

Obamacare is going down one way or the other.
It's a complete failure and even liberals are starting to see that.

Had they read the constitution in the first place, there'd be nothing to repeal. This is nothing but scoring political points after failing to do their jobs the first time. And then what comes next? If anybody thinks our insurance costs will go down, they're dreaming.

Agreed! But I for one am skeptical. I just don't see this happening. I really REALLY want it to go through but I just don't see. Let's remember that socialized healthcare is one of the planks of communist manifesto and even if Romney would have won they just would've changed the name. But hey maybe there's hope if indeed this does go forth?

As long as there's money in the till that they could be spending properly, but instead can tip into without having to be accounted for, will not go away.  But Obamacare was illegally put into law in the first place, by wiping an entirely different bill, and reenacting it as Obamacare.  And then they get onto 0bama for deciding not to enforce it.  ??

One issue that they are conviently leaving out is that it cost (at least they spent) millions and millions of dollars to design the website, which could be done for less than $200 that would have worked out better anyways than their many million dollar site. Why is this issue not brought up and also why are they not demanding accountability instead of "repeal"? Shouldn't the traitors be held accountable or is that too "pc" or politically incorrect"? The whole "sorry" issue even if they tried to play that card is a load of sheit.
