"Spot", the Mechanical Hound

2 posts in this topic

You may have seen some of the robots created by Google subsidiary Boston Dynamics.

Last week, the latest model, "Spot" was used in training with the U.S. Marines.

If you have not seen the capability of these robots, it is uncanny and a little frightening.

This thing could hunt you down in a matter of minutes.

It reminds me of the "Mechanical Hound" from Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury.

The hound was programmed to sniff out and dispatch the targets of the Firemen - People who read books and think for themselves.
