Incandesce lightbulbs listened to you through vibrations in the filaments .

:DWsKVPL:

The difference being: LEDs are broadcasting it via the light.  It can be seen for miles away from a window.  Incandecent bulbs' "audio" will be detectable only via the power lines.

If there is a window they can also listen to you through a bag of potato chips .

We should do a thread on all types of proven surveillance    It's mind-boggling  what they are now capable of doing .

Yeah, I know about the bag of chips trick.  I posted that a couple months ago on DJ.  Lemme see if I can find the video again.

You're right, there are so many different types of surveilence tricks available.  A thread on it it's a good idea.

That video kind of blew my mind which is not an easy task these days. I wanted to go into electronic engineering but it just was not in the cards for me so to speak.

Well, let's face it. If they want to listen to you, they will.

I give them no reasons to do so, and like the energy savings of LEDs.

However, for those who are truly paranoid about their light bulbs spying on them, I suggest candles and oil lamps.

don't forget to take the glass out of all your windows too.   You could even build your own   laser microphone .

They don't even need to use the windows anymore. Even heavily insulated walls/roofs work well enough to transmit sound. (damn studs and joists carry it) All you need is the right filtering software to amplify the voice audio range. (so even a standard wireless mic could get slipped up under the eaves or siding)
