How time zones confused the world

4 posts in this topic

There is now Pyongyang Time to add to Greenwich Mean Time, Eastern Standard Time and Lord Howe Standard Time. Time zones are as much about politics, diplomacy and rebellion as they are about ... the time.
The division of the world's time into neat longitudinal sections has been a messy affair.
This is the story of humanity's endeavours to manipulate time.
It is how 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time is also 22:30 in Lord Howe Standard Time (Lord Howe Island lies in the Tasman Sea between Australia and New Zealand), which is 17:14 on the moon in the (unofficial) Lunar Standard Time.
Confused?

I am starting to think that this is the way they control time travel and control the mind.

But the time zones were all started by the railroad.

Where did we get the ball that we drop on New Year's Eve in New York?  It was because it went down at noon time.  I guess that's where we also get the slang dropping the ball.

wrong. The railroad did in north Amercia not the rest of the world. The French still had them selfs as the start of all time for a long time. The English started the time zones because they had more ships around the world America did not.

If you read the history of the time zone America will say they started it but the facts point it's england because that's where GMT starts. If the north Amercia railroads started it that's where the day would start it doesn't. It's GMT. So who owned the ships? That's who controls the time.
