Animal control: Someone sending 'bizarre message' with dead pigs

6 posts in this topic

One pig was found in the Cortana Mall-area near a CATS bus stop. The pig was placed on the ground in a highly visible area.

"There were no obvious signs of trauma," Cole said. "Our officers saw no signs of how they were killed. Depending on how they were killed, the person responsible could face cruelty charges."

The staging of a second pig, however, was more alarming. Cole says an investigating officer had an “uneasy feeling” about it.

"It was in a shopping cart at the Walmart on O’Neal," Cole explained. "It was sitting in the part of the cart where a child would sit. It had blood coming from its nose."

Although there were no notes or messages written near the scene, Cole believes this is intended to express something.

"We would like the public to know that someone is sending some strange message and we’re trying to decipher it," he said.

Creepy stuff! Hmm, used pigs... could be someone hinting at killing Jews, Muslims? The shopping cart scene hints at killing children of those? Eeek!

Cortana Mall

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cortana Mall (formerly The Mall at Cortana) is a mid-tier shopping mall in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is at the intersection of Airline Hwy. and Florida Blvd. Opening in 1976, it was one of the top 10 largest malls in the world. It is currently owned by Moonbeam Equities of Las Vegas, NV and managed by The Woodmont Company.

It is currently one of Baton Rouge's two regional malls, the other was the nearby former Bon Marche Mall, which closed in 1998. Since 1997, Cortana Mall has paired with the Mall of Louisiana, serving as two of Baton Rouge's main shopping destinations.

The current Dillard's store at the mall was originally Goudchaux's/Maison Blanche until 1998, when Dillard's purchased Maison Blanche's parent company, Mercantile Stores. As a result, Dillard's relocated from its existing store to the former Masion Blanche. The original Dillard's was then sold to Saks Incorporated, who converted it to Parisian in 1998, then McRae's a year later.[1] After McRae's closed in 2006, it became Foley's and ultimately Macy's.

Other former anchors include H. J. Wilson Co., which became Service Merchandise in 1985, then Steve & Barry's from 2004 to 2009. It is now tenanted by Virginia College. Mervyns, which was added in 1981, has been vacant since 2006.

Don't muzzies not like pork?

Of course if I go to a place that serves pork it is considered to be the safest place on the planet.

At the end of the book Animal Farm, the rest of the farm can't tell the difference between the pigs and Farmer Jones.

That's really messed up. It could be a threat against the police.
Unless Baton Rouge has a high Muslim population and the mall and the Walmart are near Mosques.
