Rocky Marciano's greatness

By deleting the preceding posts it makes this the first  post and thus it makes no real sense if viewed in conjunction with the heading!

So, here is a snipped of the great boxer.

Are you sure you're 5'8"? I mean that's small for a guy, but you sound like, oh maybe 5'2" ish...

My two favorites of all time, Jack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano!

Rocky Marciano punched so hard that he used to leave red welts
on his opponents upper arms, and so much so, that by the end of
the fight, they couldn't even lift there arms at all because they were
in so much pain. He had legs like tree trunks, and that's where much
of his power came from. His forearms were also very powerful, and
he was very deceptive for his size. The reason he was able to win
most of his fights by ko was because he could take the bigger mans
punch, and as he wore them down before ko'ing almost every opponent!
Those are the things I remember about him!

Jack Dempsey was best known as the "Manassa Mauler", and certainly
lived up to his reputation. The only other boxer who was able to give him
fits was Gene Tunney, a truely scientific boxer for back in the day!

What the hell, a red rep for my above post? ROFL... Why?
I didn't give anyone any red... That's just one of the reasons
why this crappy rating system should be dropped!

Dont complain :D you always get more green than red because you post things people agree with more than disagree with. Same works if someone rarely posts good stuff and just throws abuse. They quickly accumulate red. Thats opinions for you. But the system works. - At some point when we grow it may change but for now its this.

In the future rep will have more of a use than just changing your rating.

Marciano was 5' 10", under 200 was 32-0, but Louis would've destroyed him on a good day.

No one can ever say that for sure. Rocky had an unusual ability to take the
hardest punches from much larger opponents. His eyes/forehead was
loaded with scar tissue, and it was almost impossible to hit him in his jaw
with his peek-a-boo style of boxing. Dragging his right leg was his trademark,
and he used that to his advantage by planting it for his thunderous right hand!
Besides, who fights with his nose split from top to bottom, and still wins the
fight with a knockout? Some of his best fights were against Ezra Charles, the
man who splits his nose wide open in their second fight.

Jersey Joe Walcott dropped Rocky to the canvas, but paid the price in the
next round with a thunderous right!

It's cyberspace after all, it's fun and a means to measure the reactions on things you say.

Personally, I will not give a poster a red if I simply disagree with a post, that's stupid.  If the post violates moral codes and is offensive then a red may be necessary.  But, one must be able to "defend" that decision.

As for green, I cannot simply apply the same rule - Green is not for when I agree, but when the poster makes am exceptional point which may even change my opinion of the issue or item of the post then a green one is just reward.  Sometimes a poster makes  a big effort to research and give new and valid information / proof - a reward is then justified.

Green = respect and Red = disrespect - Remember you earn both of these!
