Think of all the extra money for overtime, making government police state status relevant and the fear instilled in people. Win! Win! Win!  And if anything does happen, they can say: Oh, look, we've done our jobs as nannies or hopefully we didn't botch this hoax as bad as previous ones.

I'd be more inclined to believe the Disney threat, simply because the FBI was informed... Seems to be a common theme around successful terrorist attacks...
