B.S or proof? Are these pics proof of a portal opening above CERN???

So what's everyone's take on these pics? Fear porn about interdimensional portals opening above CERN? Or just a big thunder storm? My take is CERN is bad news and they are messing with forces that are best left alone. Me thinks that whatever it is exactly they are trying to do has nothing to do with finding Higgs boson.

Kinda both?  Note the storm is only present right above CERN.  That storm was highly electrical in nature, and Spirit can use storms to manifest - conversely I imagine that being a particle accelerator, the hydrogen collider would automatically cause electrical and weather disturbance within its immediate area.  There would be a higher probability depending on atmospheric conditions.

My personal opinion is that there is an overarching group (the stakeholders and sponsors) who know exactly what they're trying to accomplish, but the majority of the scientists who are involved probably don't realize what the ultimate end goal is....even if the scientists are aware they are trying to crack interdimensional openings.  They probably are thinking in more altruistic terms than those above.

I hope that makes sense.

I fully agree. They don't spend so much money just for searching elementary particles.

Nice pics of a thunderstorm.  No way I can see to prove it's actually over CERN or not.  The lake appears to be in about the right place, but who knows.  Click-baiters typically don't provide any verifiable data and that seems to be the case here.

A quick google search of Geneva weather did show the potential for thunderstorms existing the night of the 24th into the morning of the 25th.

But that doesn't change a thing about all the questions surrounding CERN.

The Awake installation has the potential to increase the energetic potential of these collisions by almost 4 times according to conservative estimates and perhaps as many as ~75X.

Awakening acceleration: AWAKE’s plasma cell arrives

First beam enters unique AWAKE experiment

The Large Hadron Collider peaks at 13 TeV under current acceleration methods.  Some estimates are saying that once Awake is commissioned and operational that power level will go up to 50 TeV  ....almost 4 times current power levels.  Considering it took hundreds of billions of dollars and a generation to achieve 13 TeV, adding this little new tech "kicker" and getting a 4 fold increase in power is incredibly good value.  Some are saying the machine may actually enable them to achieve 1000 TeV collisions.

Whatever they've really been up to until now, it's about to be taken to a whole new level, even if only the lowest predicted power levels are achieved.

7 TeV was a new record when it was set last year.  13 TeV were only achieved this year.  And this year may see that 50 TeV level achieved.

I will go with just a thunderstorm minus the the whole "portal" thing.

It does make me wonder if such a huge particle collider would have an exacerbating effect with a storm passing over it. It is one hell of a grounding point for lightning, that's for sure!

**Edit:

Also, while hunting for the source of the images I stumbled across the possible photographer's other photos of Geneva thunderstorms:

Rabid that is one odd thing about those pics.  All that activity but I couldn't discern any of it grounding to earth.  I sure wish we could know for sure where and when that storm was, and then have a look at a whole series of photographs...that one instant isn't enough to prove anything.  Just interesting :)  Pretty pics no matter what :)

If any of you computer/photoshop experts know how to get meta data from a photograph, you might be able to grab gps coordinates and a date the photo was taken and at least figure out the where and when.  I'm nowhere near savvy enough to do that but the info should be there.

June 24th was the day of that storm: https://twitter.com/suarezphoto/status/747141377801216001/photo/1

Nice!  proof enough of time and location to me...nice work

Those are different photos than the ones in the article, but obviously from the same shooting location and the same storm.

plenty of ground strikes in those too...gorgeous pics.   It does appear those first two pics show the cell while it was almost if not directly over CERN
