Future Asteroid nano-tech mining

3 posts in this topic

I call it the nano-net mining system. We take ships into orbit and catch asteroids and fling them at earth. Our super advanced asteroid detection system will engage and release nanobot swarms that will converge on the asteroid entry path into earths atmosphere. They would then swarm the object and bring it to a controlled landing and deposit it into a mining facility for resource separation.

This strategy is a cool concept in a lot of ways. It is efficient in a lot of ways and requires little manpower to accomplish except for the ship that send it at us. But it would however require a few years for the asteroid pulling stuff to be worked out. And for nano tech to advance to that level.

Cool concept though.
